Introductory activities in teaching listening
I think introductory activities are always necessary, as they give the
general idea of what is going to be heard, thus students feel more
confident, stay more focused on important details. pre-listening
activities also help predict the situation or events, which develops
students' interest(the topics are not always interesting or easy, so we
should try to build motivation). I always ask students to read
instructions, a tytle and tasks very carefully to get as much
information as possible about the audio material to be presented.
